choirs

I graduated in choir conducting from the Stanislaw Moniuszko Academy of Music, Gdansk in 2017. My master thesis focused on how a conductor works on popular music, especially circle songs.

Since then, I have been growing as a musical and social facilitator, and I hope to keep doing that for the rest of my life.

Currently you can find me as a leader in the choirs listed below, all based in Copenhagen.

  • Gratitude and joy: Witnessing the profound gratitude and joy that singing brings to people.
  • Group development: Observing the development of the choirs, both musically and socially.
  • Limitless creativity: An endless canvas for creativity, allowing me to test and refine my ideas with a diverse group of people.
  • Music passion sharing: Witnessing its impact on individuals and communities
  • Leadership fulfilment: Guiding choirs through challenges and triumphs, contributing to personal and collective growth.
  • Rehearsal approach:
    – I plan rehearsals but go with the flow as needed.
    – Balancing structure and spontaneity keeps sessions dynamic.

  • Comprehensive growth:
    – It’s not just about singing; I aim for overall musical development of choristers
    – Focusing on musical knowledge, harmony, and rhythm skills is key.

  • Flexible Techniques:
    – I use sheet music for specific songs but also explore improvisation.
    – This mix ensures a well-rounded and creative learning experience for the choir.

Choir Club

Choir Club is an international, very social choir located in Copenhagen NW. It’s a place for everyone, whether you are a beginner or an experienced choir singer – as long as you love to sing with others and have a sense of musicality.

Check out our social media to hear us sing and get to know us:

Choir Club is an international choir of 30-40 people of all ages who love to sing together. Aleksandra founded this choir herself when she moved to Copenhagen in 2020, and it has been growing ever since.

Usually the rehearsals start with a short warm-up to wake up our bodies and voices with some playful rhythmic games or improvised circle singing. And then we sing! We continously work on our main repertoire that contains a variety of folk songs, and both contemporary and old pop songs in 3-4 voices. We sing both acapella and with piano or occasionally guitar accompaniment, and keep learning new songs.

We usually have 3-5 concerts a year, both with our regular songs and the occasional Christmas carol for street concerts and happenings. Sometimes we perform joined concerts with our friends in MVE Copenhagen and ACE Performance Singers whom Aleks are also directing.

We are a very social choir and there are always a bunch people who go out for a beer after rehearsal or meet for parties, concerts or other activities in the weekends. We’re a heart warming, fun, welcoming crowd, where music is the connecting link.

Our rehearsals are every Tuesday at 6.30pm.

Two seasons per year: January-June & August-December

We rehearse in the big auditorium of Tagensbo Skole:
Magistervej 4, 2400 København

New interested members are welcome to contact us at choirclubcph@gmail.com and join us for a free trial rehearsal at the beginning of each season.

MVE Copenhagen

MVE – short for the Modern Vocal Ensemble is an ambitious a capella choir located in Østerbro singing arrangements in 5-7 voices.

Check out our social media to hear us sing and get to know us:

Modern Vocal Ensemble is a young and ambitious rhythmic choir based in Østerbro in Copenhagen consisting of singers from all over the world.

The two conductors Aleksandra Raczynska and Josh Herring are taking turns each week to conduct the choir and bring each their own personal touch to the choir.

MVE Copenhagen focuses on creativity, collaboration, fun and shaping a strong and cohesive ensemble sound.

The repertoire mostly consists of original arrangements of modern pop/indie songs made by Aleks and Josh. And also arrangements from known a capella groups like Pentatonix for example.

We usually sing 3-5 concerts a year, and can also be booked for private events like weddings, birthdays or events.

Our rehearsals are every Wednesday at 6.30pm.

Two seasons per year: January-June & August-December

We rehearse in the music room of Vibenshus Skole:
Kertemindegade 10, 2100 København Ø
